citizens of the Cedar Valley address the proposal for a coal burning power plant
City Council meeting
May 7, 2007
Susan Sonic, 173 Gray St. Elk Run Heights
I have many concerns just like all of the individuals here. My main concern is for the children. We are building a brand new elementary school here in Evansdale and how is this going to affect our children? The potash, they say there’s 80% evaporation, in this evaporation are there gases that are going to float through the air. What are we going to do to our children? We need green. We need energy from green. We are more advanced than this, than coal. Going back to the past is not going to help our future. We need to stand up as individuals and help our society, not just Waterloo. Put a foot forward, Waterloo, and show these people what we can do. Ware more smart than this. I thank you for listening and I thank you for considering everything but please, please, make a right decision for the future not just for today.
