citizens of the Cedar Valley address the proposal for a coal burning power plant

Hi, I am Ronda Rottinghaus, I live at 345 North Canfield RD, Waterloo
I have just two or three short thoughts:
One thing that was brought up was there was testing and examining what traffic would do…I do know that they are looking at specific routes for their trucks, but also consider once they are on the road they will look for other roads, smaller roads and they may break down your bridges and other roads you had not thought of, so there might be more expenses there.
Another thing: they had an expert come and said they were going to do screening for proposed landscaping and I don’t know where you can get mature trees that would be five stories high to screen this big plant and have them movable to go around this area
And the other major concern to most people here is that here seams to be a debate that the EPA is saving us from any harm.
And please remember that EPA standards were very very strict, there were high recommendations that said we should be limiting all types of emissions and then unfortunately they were drawn back and lessened because there were lots of complaints from existing power plants, saying that they could not meet those so fast, so they were given several years to meet those standards. So I am hoping that you will at least investigate what those stricter standards were and how close they are right now and if this plant is began and started right now if this plant would be grandfathered in to these lesser standards.
