Good Evening Mayor Hurley and Members of the Concil. I’m Lori McConville …Greater Cedar Valley…ah, Chair of the Greater Cedar Valley Chamber of Commerce for Waterloo. My address is 921 Nancy Rd. in Waterloo. As Dave mentioned our Chambers of Commerce together voted to support this project because it’s great for the Cedar Valley. It’s safe, because it will not only meet, but will exceed today’s toughest standards set by the U.S. EPA and the Iowa DNR. It’s progressive, b/c it’ll be using renewable energy from biomass products as a supplemental resource. It’s great for the cedar valley because their investments will generate tax revenues, jobs, and will be better for our children’s education. It’s time for this kind of opportunity in our community. We urge you to annex and rezone the 345 acres of land at issue, that would bring this great addition to the Cedar Valley. Personally, I know this is a very hard decision. We have a lot of people here today who have voiced many concerns, many promises, and many hopes. All of us here have one thing in common, we love our community.

We hope and trust that you will make the right decision, and that you’ll vote yes to this decision. Thank you.
