Hello, my name is Thomas Huff, I live at 707 Hall Ave. in Waterloo. I have 2 issues I’d like to address. First there is the real issue. I live in the Allen Hospital district and I know from experience that we have some real issues in that area, and from what I’ve seen, the trains move through that area a heck of a lot slower than 10 miles per hour…and when they pull into the yard or go to the Burton Street interchange, you can literally walk faster than they can move. Keep in mind that Donald St. is an important ambulance route and adding an additional train, 135 cars long, each day…will only make more problems.

Mr Milburn, I was shocked to find out that this issue was not resolved before the last meeting…like it should have been.

It is also my understanding that the City Council donates a lot of money to the Cedar Valley Alliance, that supports this project, if that’s the case it would only be fair to pass a motion to authorize a forum in order to properly discuss this issue before it’s put up for a vote. It’s the right thing to do. And I don’t think giving up 3 minutes a speaker is a suitable way to address this issue …

And it seems like we’re really not getting a whole lot for our troubles. We really shouldn’t be passing it through at this time. I’m sorry.. Have a nice day.
